Story
I'm Cycling for Grace
We're gearing up and making a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to our heart.
Our daughter, Vincenza, was born with a Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula, Oesophageal Atresia, Atrial Septal Defect (Hole in Heart), Patent ductus arteriosus (Open Heart Duct) and severe Tracheomalacia (collapsible airway).
Having already undergone many surgeries, tests and procedures, and with more to come, the team at the Grace Unit have been our main support for the almost 6 months stay we have had there. They have become our forever family and we will always be indebted to them for the work they have performed on our daughter so we can soon bring her home.
As she is a twin, we have spent many months juggling our family unit from the hospital. Not only have they provided expert medical support, but often you will find one of the staff giving her brother cuddles in the corner and being a shoulder for us to lean on during this difficult time.
I'd appreciate any contribution, big or small so they can continuously provide them same to future children and their families.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to The Grace Centre for Newborn Care.
Grace Centre for Newborn Care at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, has a team of Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health professionals who are specifically trained and experienced in caring for newborns babies needing specialist treatment, such as surgical operations, diagnostic testing and breathing support for little premature lungs.

In 2018, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation expanded our fundraising portfolio to include all the paediatric services within Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network: Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Kids Research Bear Cottage The Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) Over 170,000 kids are helped each year, with countless numbers benefitting for generations to come. Whether it’s used for new equipment, training and education, groundbreaking research, building state-of-the-art facilities or more, the money raised by the SCHF provide kids with the world-class healthcare they need and deserve. From research to recovery: one donation helping all sick kids. From illness to injury: one donation helping all sick kids. From admission to remission: one donation helping all sick kids. From toddlers to teenagers: one donation helping all sick kids. For her, him and them: one donation helping all sick kids. Childhood is brief, and the window of opportunity is short.
